Assessment of knowledge among ICU nurses regarding oral and dental care.

Short survey is conducted on about the assessment of knowledge among ICU nurses regarding oral and dental care in critically ill hospitalized patients at tertiary care hospitals.DHA,MOH,HAAD,GAT TEST PREPRATIONS.


Methodology

A total of 33 surveys were conducted, out of 30 surveys 19 were conducted from male which is almost 57%, while 14 surveys were collected from female which means 43%.

Out of 33 surveys 16 means (49%) were strongly agreed that oral health is about the health and well-being of mouth, while 17 (51%) people approximately at the age of 20-30 years agreed to described that oral health is about the health and well-being of mouth. The research was conducted at LRH hospital Peshawar.

A total of 17 people at the age of 20-30 (54%) surveys strongly agreed that oral and dental health is also important as the health of other parts of the body. 14 people at the age of 30-40 years are agreed with this statement and only 2 percent survey described that agreed that oral and dental health is also important as the health of other parts of the body. This survey was held at LRH hospital Peshawar.

According to surveys a total of 17 people told about that overall human well-being are closely concerned with a good oral and dental health. These surveys are mostly conducted at LRH at the age of 20-30 years old.  According to 2020 survey a total of 18 people (56%) at the age of 20-30 years are strongly agreed that oral and dental care is a key role in the promotion of oral health, while 43% people are only agree about the above statement. Only 1% survey is conducted neutral.

Out of 33 surveys 12 (33%) survey were considered that oral and dental health becomes compromised in critical ill, while 17 (51%) survey studies agreed that oral and dental health becomes compromised in critical ill, while 1% survey is neutral and 2% were disagreed with the above statements.

 A total of 75% surveys were conducted at the age of 20-30 years while 25% were at 30-40 years age. 48% survey were conducted the result that oral and dental care have done with a solution containing chlorhexidine solution or benzarine Mouthwash. A total of 12 (33%) data showed that oral and dental care has done with a solution containing chlorhexidine solution or benzarine Mouthwash and only 9 percent result are at neutral phase.

Total Patient Surveys.

According to this research project, a total of 9 (27%) surveys out of 33 surveys were conducted strongly agreed that there is a difference between oral care of  conscious patient and unconscious patient. This community that conducted this survey was at 20-30 years old, while 21 reported (63%) out of 33 surveys explained that oral health of conscious person is different from oral health of unconscious person. 2% (two survey) reported were sustained their thinking ability common while 1% were disagree with the above statement.

A total of 10 conducted reports means (28%) survey strongly agreed that oral and dental health are compromised by endotracheal and naso-gastric incubation. A number of 15 surveys means (47%) questionnaire were conducted and agreed that endotracheal and naso-gastric incubation can compromise oral and dental health, while only 5% result are at neutral phase. Only 3% survey were conducted disagreed with the above mention statement.

A number of 10 means (28%) survey reported with strongly agreed statement that topical antifungal agent such as nylstat or macnaz should be scheduled at least three times a day to a critically ill patient in the ICU. A total of 14 (43%) surveys were conducted with agreed statement that topical antifungal agent such as nylstat or macnaz should be scheduled at least three times a day to a critically ill patient in the ICU. 5% survey are at neutral phase and only 3% were against the above statement. All these survey are conducted at the age of 20-30 years at LRH hospitals.

According to current study a total of 17 (51%) survey were conducted with strongly statement that approximately elevation of oral cavity is done up to 72 hours after admission to ICU. 12 survey reports were agreed with the above statement while only 6 surveys (17%) are at neutral phase.

All these survey are conducted at the age of 20-30 and 30-40 years old at LRH hospitals. Most of them are male while some portion is covered by female. These surveys are conducted from nursing staff at intensive care unit ICU with surrounding 1.5 to 5 years experience.

According to this project a statement of questionnaire was conducted and reported that out of 33 surveys a total of 100% people have agreed that adult individual have 32 teeth. The research was conducted at LRH hospital. Furthermore a total of 33 surveys mean overall 100% survey showed that first set of human teeth is known as primary teeth. No survey goes against the above statement.

A total of 15 out of 33 surveys reported that if sugar stay too long on the teeth it make a hole in the teeth called plague, while 17 out of 33 surveys showed that if sugar stay for long time in teeth it cause cavity in between the teeth. Only 1% data result against above both statements.

Out of 33 documents, 24 surveys reports indicated that a total of 73% people are agreed to, Bruxism is a disease that damage teeth, only a number of 9 surveys conducted that it is a condition that cause damage to Gums. During this research project it was analyzed that a overall ratio of survey agreed that sweets is a substance that is dangerous and cause damage to human teeth.

According to questionnaire a total of 75% mean 25 surveys confirmed that the breakdown of teeth due to acid from bacteria are known as dental carries, while 15% reports showed that the disease caused by bacteria is called oscthopia. Only 10% 3 explained that the disease cause by bacteria is called gingival hyperplasia.

A number of 17 surveys confirmed that the substance in toothpaste protected teeth from decay is known as chlorhexidine, while 49% survey showed that the substance present in toothpaste which protected teeth form decay is fluoride.

Moreover a total of 33 surveys were conducted out of which 57% were in favor with teeth should be brushed after meal, while 20% showed that teeth should be brushed before meal. A number of 15% confirmed that teeth should be washed before go to bed. Only 8% reported that teeth should be washed in both condition before and after the meal.
